My Interview with a Dentist

I interviewed Julie, a public health dentist that works at the Carter County Health Department. She provides comprehensive care dentistry for children ages three to twenty-one years old. She cleans their teeth and when it is needed, she does things like filling cavities, pulling teeth, crowning teeth, and providing oral hygiene education. She makes use of technology daily by using an X-ray machine to examine teeth more closely when needed. She uses the internet daily to do continuing dental education and to research a topic or medication that arises that she might not know. She uses email daily to communicate with both coworkers and outside agencies. She uses several specialized programs to keep time sheets, pay information, leave information, and personnel information and to keep track of patient appointments and their personal information.

Introduction

Hello! My name is Danni Vines, and I am a tenth grade student. I am a tennis player, and I train very hard with on court training and off court training like working out and running. I would like to be an orthodontist for my career one day. I would need many technical skills, including the ability to work well with many different pieces of equipment and knowing what to do with certain types of equipment and certain situations. I would also need to know where certain teeth should be lined up and I would need to know how to use my resources to make those teeth line up the right way. Another technical skill I would need would be to keep track of the patients, their appoinment times, how their teeth are, and what needs to be done with their teeth with a computer.
